I just finished the book. A very good book. Easy and fun to read. I was reading it while on lunch at work. It helped me to relax and forget about what is going on in the office. I love the Amish Bread recipes. I can't wait to make the strawberry.
It's always fun to catch up with old friends, and reading the latest Avalon book was no exception. Full of relationships on the brink of crisis--and sweet treats! As always, it made me want to get a new batch of Friendship Bread starter going!!
If you have read any of the previous Avalon books you will enjoy catching writhing some of Avalon's most well known citizens ring the most romantic time of the year.
I did enjoy this book and as soon as my Amish friendship bread starter reached day 10, I made the strawberry bread and the brownies. Both were a big hit! And there are several more recipes, all look like a 10 on the yummy scale! While reading the book I was waiting for the characters to pass around the starter and tend to it and bake it and share it again. I really enjoyed each seerate storyline comig together. I am happy there are more Avalon books and hoping more recipes!
I love all of these Avalon books. The characters are so real and approachable I feel as if I know each and everyone of them. The story may be predictable but that is such a good thing. When your own life is overwhelming it's nice to know that someone out there, some of your friends on the page at least, are having a happily ever after.
I love visiting Avalon and how everyone is so integrated in one way or another! It really makes you care about, not only with the main characters but with everyone involved in the story line. Can't wait to see what happens this "Avalon Summer"!
An easy, light read. It was occasionally difficult to keep up with the characters because you have at least 4 different storylines happening at the same time. But overall it was good. One unnecessary bad word, but it was clean other than that.
